Algae in waterbodies

Legislation in most jurisdictions excludes the application of any chemical to a water body. If your algae management includes chemical dosing of water or the use of water dye to minimise light penetration think again as this may not be the best treatment and you could be breaching environmental legislation. If you are using dyes to colour the water for aesthetics or  for algal control and your dam has a spillway and the water can potentially migrate to other waters you are in breach of environmental legislation.

The Superintendents Shed (Open the par golf course and click on the "Superintendents Shed" icon - for Members only) provides details on algae causes, identification and management.
